He has alot less knockback know on certain moves, does overall more damage and therefore has also more metergain due to slightly longer combos.

6B>5C>5D1>214D is stylish and epic in the corner and does more damage. Can easily break 5k now. Hellsfang is now followup able in the corner with a 22C or Inferno Divider, prolonging his combos and damage. 6D having float ability on air hit is superb aswell, it deals tons of damage both in the corner and midscreen.

I have yet to see some progress in Blood Kain stuff though, but it's hard due to the rarity of it being used.

I think 6B buff is one of the best things that ever happened to Ragna ever since the creation of Belia edge. sure, it's a bitch he lost the ability to break primers with Gauntlet hades and hells fang, but oh well.

Btw, on BK Combos does aerial and ground Gauntlet hades count as the same move for repeat proration?

Aerial and Grounded versions are considered different moves, so no.

Unless someone finds an use for 6B in BK combos, it's still the same stuff, except that you need more or less 70 heat for DbD ender.

He does tons of damage without a claw ender and unless I need the health regain back or the enemy dies through it, I'll rather save the 50 heat for pressure after the 22C ender. Ragna needs meter anyways.

Also stuff>6C>DC>6B>BK activation>5C>stuff combos, so 6B is a valid move during BK combos

Ragna also got a meter buff so he won't need as much meter. Depending on your BK combo and your starter -> Hells fang follow up>D ID>axe kick>j.D>5D(1)>Hells fang + follow up>Hells fang + follow up > ender works.

Needs some testing and fine tuning though. Being able to combo BK out of a midscreen throw makes me really happy though.

I started playing BlazBlue using Ragna as a sort of "aw, hell, I dunno, I'll just button mash 'till I win, or at least see what happens!" character, and it's worked pretty well. Is he meant to be a really user-friendly, sort of introduction type?

Anyways, I'm just learning the basic combo pathways right now. The ones directly from the Tutorial levels, but hey! It's still helping. I'm rolling through the challenge modes.

Is he the fastest melee character?

He is an easier character to pick up but hard to master like the rest of the cast. His user friendly interface makes him suffer in tournament play because his mixups are fairly straight forward and easy to prevent. That is why Ragna generally needs meter to make his rushdown alot stronger. Since he has the meter to rapid cancel anything he does, he can go for more riskier options. Ragna is fairly versatile and fast but Bang or Noel win in terms of speed. Although Ragna has more range than both of these characters, which is not a surprise because his standard most used poke has a fairly wide range and can be easily followed up on a successful hit. In most cases it also gives him the momentum he needs in which he can get alot more closer to you and rush you down.

.. Let's slow down.

So that's when, like, you have a high attack and a low attack happening at once, or something? And it breaks your opponents block?

What's metering, and what's rushdown? I assume just, like, charging?

Nah, that's an unblockable setup and only Carl as far as I recall has those. Falco meant simple mixups like high, low and grab, which Ragna's kinda weak at because his mixups are really average.

He meant heat, 'dat blue bar. And rushdown is a playstyle, like Makoto, Bang, and Ragna. Rushdown is an offensive playstyle based around getting in on the opponent and staying on them.
