Right well I'm gonna attempt to make Carl my sub, are there any tips?

guess what fate i just practiced with carl for like 4 hours and now ima sleep. He is invincible!!!! with that grab move and the up D wow i really wanna c if i can pull it off in a match. Well I'm going to practice a bit more tomorrow and play the story mode for him and do arcade. Then I will be ready to do online match. Those tips the guy give u in that dvd is godly use it and you will b good lol.

actually the problem with that is that it has such an off range it looks like it will get a moving target but it rarely does. However if you can pull it off it is awesome. But carl is much harder to use in a real fight than he is in practice, especially if you fight someone who doesn't fear Nirvana.

Not really I notice a lot of people are cautious of her when they fight me. And that generally gives me an advantage but I never worry about her when i fight other carl users thats why I'm always rushing.

i usually try to hit everytime i see her move >.<

take out the doll and you can gain the advantage

The thing about Carl is that a lot of people think that Nirvana is his only strong suit, and while she does hit a lot harder than he does, I believe Carl is quite possibly one of the fastest characters in the game. Trying to catch him is nearly as hard, if not harder than trying to catch Taokaka. Not to mention he has some short teleport dodge moves that throw him back and forth across the screen nearly as much as Arakune.

Half the time, it feels like the real fight is between me and Nirvana simply because I'm unable to actually hit Carl because he always manages to get away from me.

I know that this thread isn't that lively anymore but...I'm Planning to main carl so that He and rachel could be together as my mains, anyway, any combos for carl? ground and aerial.

If you're planning on maining Carl, I suggest moving his D button to a shoulder button like R1 (RT for 360?). It makes him a lot easier to play.

On the downside, you'd either have to learn other characters with it like that, or switch it every time you're done with him.

Of course, if you're using an arcade stick, you probably don't need to move the button at all.
